About Me

violin92

Started learning the violin and piano at the age of 6 years old. Obtained my first ABRSM grade 1 at age 8 with merit. Skipped grades 2-4 and went on get ABRSM grade 5 at age 10 with Distinction. Finally took the ABRSM grade 8 at age 13 and passed with yet another Distinction.

Joined the Singapore Youth Orchestra from Secondary 1 till just before i entered NTU. In between took my Advance 8 and then A(perf)TCL followed by LTCL (perf). Since my Uni days, a group of us have bonded so well that we have formed a quartet and have been performing for events. We managed to kick start the NTU String Ensemble which we manage to change its course towards a NTU String Orchestra. To start your passion with violin with me, contact me @ +65 8282 1243.

  1. My son is only coming to 4 this May. Do you have anything that is suitable for this age group. If yes, could you advise how you would conduct such classes? Do you have any instrucments or materials that can be rented. If yes, what are your prices? I do not want to commit to any purchase until my son is able to demonstrate he has interest in that area. Thank you.

  2. Hi
My son is 10. Passed with merit for his theory last year. Just completed his practical grade 5. He lost interest in the lessons and expressed that he preferred the group lessons. He has done a few concerts in the past and was satisfied with the end results and that’s why he is looking for group lessons.

At his grade & age, i doubt there is music school conducting group lesson. What’s your advise.

  3. Hello!

I read your post on buying a violin.

Just a query, any places that you recommend to buy violins from if i am serious about learning it for long-term?

  4. hi there

i have a 2 and a half year old son. i would like him to be exposed to the violin. He is familiar with certain musical terms and how the violin is player, we have a piano at home too. I am just wondering if you would be able to do a home class at my place which is near great world city. I dont expect a miracle, i would just love D to grow to love this instrument .I think you get what i mean. Hope to hear from you. thanks.

    • Hi elaine,

So sorry for the late late late reply. I don’t usually do home classes but i can do an exception for you. However, my charges for home classes will be different as I need to cover my transport and time for traveling to and fro. If you haven’t found a teacher, yet get back to me at 82821243. Once again sorry for the late reply 🙂
