  1. Hi, i would like to enquire more about the Beginners course, how’s the class schedules and the structure of the lesson.

May i ask, perhaps, there is discount for NTU students? 😀

    Zhengda

    • Hi Zhengda,

I teach 7 days a week, as I am teaching full-time now, i have the flexibility. You let me know the day and time and i will get back to you the soonest possible.

Lesson structure is really dependant on your capability of absorbing and applying. Which boils down to practice practice and practice. But due to your school workload, i also understand there is limited amount of time u can spend practising. I am using the suzuki method and syllabus.

Please sms or contact me regarding the fees at 8282 1243. Hope to hear from you 🙂

  2. Hi ,

Are you providing a 1 to 1 class? Will there be exams taken?
At present, my daughter is taking violin lessons but would like someone to
teach her at home if possible. If not let me know where is your teaching centre
as i stay very near Kovan MRT too.

Let me know the fees, prefer weekend lessons.

    • Hi Rosanna,

Yes I provide 1 to 1 classes. ABRSM exams will be taken. My place is along flower road (will give you exact address in private). I do have a few questions:
      1. How old is your daughter?
      2. How long has your daughter been learning the violin?
      3. What pieces has she played so far?

My fees are standard for 1 to 1 lessons and can be refered at the top bar under “lesson structure”. Feel free to clear any doubts via email or my mobile. Hope to hear from you soon.

      regards
      weihan

  3. hi! do you teach people with no violin background at all?
is there a age limit to your intake of students?
is the fees negotiable as i’m still a student whos waiting to study in poly. ^^

    • Hi Zyann,

Yes I teach people with no violin background as the method I teach does not require you to know any form of music. No age limit, as long as you are willing to learn I am willing to teach.

As for fees, I’m sorry I cannot lower it any further.

PS: you do need to get a set of beginners violin too 🙂

      Regards
      weihan

  7. Hi,

do you have experience in teaching children? From what ages?

My son (coming 3 yo) has expressed an interest to learn but I’m unsure if it’s just a “5 minute” thing.

I’ve considered music schools for group lessons. Unfortunately, none of them hold classes when we’re available (weekday mornings) so we haven’t even been for a “trial class”.

    What do you advice?

    Many thanks.

    • I have taught children as young as 3 years old. To be honest, children this age won’t know what they really want or don’t want. They just jump onto any opportunity that gives them a new environment and a new “toy”. That’s where a parent will have to step in and enforce certain things to the child. And keep their kids motivated.

I use Suzuki Method to teach, but i would need to see your child before i can fully assess his speech capabilities, pyscho-motor skills and temperament. I don’t give trial lessons however through the assessment and small talks, should be able to tell if he is suitable or not.

Call me at 8282 1243 and we can discuss what timings you can bring your son down.

      regards
      weihan

  8. Hi,

My son is turning 3 soon and he did express his interest in learning Violin. I’ve been searching for music school and intend to put him in group session but I could not find the time slot I want. I prefer weekdays PM class (4pm onwards) if possible. By the way do I need to purchase a violin for a start?

    Kindly advise. Thanks!

    • hi Angela,

I am available on wednesday between 4pm – 730pm. Yes he would need to purchase a violin for a start. The violin with shoulder rest and a music book would be below $200. If you are interested please give me a call or you could text me at 82821243 too.

      regards
      weihan

  9. Are you linked to any music organisation(s) that would allow your students a performing platform?

    • Unfortunately I am not linked to any music organisation. However I do my own private concert yearly. And some house concerts.

  10. Hi Weihan,
I have a 4.5 year old boy and I’m thinking of starting him on either the violin or piano.
I’m personally piano trained and we have a piano at home.
However, I’m more keen to let my boy start on the violin and if he is not that interested, I can let him try the piano later.
And in fact, I myself would like to learn how to play the violin, just for fun.

Just to check with you whether you are still teaching violin?
Also, are you open to teaching both mother and son in the same setting? Not sure if this is advisable though…

In any case, your charges still ramin as 90min for beginners?
And if you teach both my son and me, what would be your charges like?

  11. Am an adult beginner and I’ve had amazing lessons with Weihan. He’s an amazing teacher and is able to make me understand different techniques. Many thumbs up!

    Cheers

  12. Hi! I’m an graduating uni student and I’m being taught using the Suzuki method. I’m currently at Book 3. Am I still considered to be under the category of ‘beginner’? As I’ll be starting work soon, I would like to know if you conduct lessons on Saturday afternoons too?

Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!

    • Hi ying,

I’m sorry i didn’t see your msges, they were all sent to my spam mail. Have you started learning the violin yet?

      regards
      weihan

  13. Hi Weihan,

My age 38 but have interest to learn music exmaple violin,
pls advise at this age will that be tough to teach?
I have my violin set for own (beginer) which purchase quite long time ago ,but never move on to music lesson. Do you also able help to change the string or I need to send down to Gramency for change?

Able to advise beginer to Grade 8 need take how long to complete?

My living place at punggol – is that convenience to travel to your place?

    Miss.C

    • Hi,
It is not difficult to learn as long you have a want at any age. More importantly, patience. I can change the strings for you but you’ll need to get the strings in order for me to change it for you. Time taken is very subjective to each individual, so i can’t give you a time span. Yes, i’m near heartland mall, or Kovan Mrt.

  14. Hi,

I’m looking for a teacher to learn from. I have experience in music but not much on the violin, all I can do is play random notes. Aside from experience and what not, i’m still studying (Tertiary) therefore most of my time is allocated to assignments and projects. I need flexible time and might not be able to have violin lessons every single month.

Wondering if you have slots now and interested to teach.

  15. Hello. I’m wondering if you are still taking students? I’m a student in NUS High and to take Music as a major a requirement is to obtain ABRSM grade 8 before graduation (in 2 years’ time). I have played the violin for 4 years but I have not got any grade yet (I learned before coming to Singapore). Is it possible to arrange a private lesson starting next year?

Please reply and I will contact by phone for further discussion by phone.
    Thank you very much.

  16. Hi, I am wondering if you are still taking students as I am interested in playing the violin. With regards to my musical background, I have been playing the piano for 8 years and hope to join a chamber ensemble in junior college. Thank you and I hope to hear a favourable reply from you.
